The Hotel Alte Werft was opened at the beginning of 1995 in the machine building hall where Meyer Werft in Papenburg in the Emsland region manufactured compressors from 1870 until the company moved in 1975. The overhead crane with its huge hook rests in a poppy peppermint coat of paint under the glass roof. Models of Meyer ships decorate the walls. Mighty punching and drilling machines dominate the foyer and the Schnürboden restaurant. These relics of the industrial age give our hotel a distinctive character.
